I have trouble with blogs. I don't really know why people want to spread themselves all over the net. Really. Why are so many people doing it and talking about so many ordinary things? Odd that to me. Is this a matter of self-esteem in that, I feel I have nothing important or good to say because I feel less than ____ ? Or is it that I just think there is really nothing to say... or do I like to read things more than I like to write things? Actually I like to think things more than either of the other two.
Anyway, whatever
I'll update this blog more often. Hello out there to those who are reading and if you make things with Friendly Plastic let me know. I'd love to see it!

Moose and their Antlers 10" x 10" acrylic on canvas 2004
After consulting with my brother we came up with this name for my new website: moostical.com
Surprise! the name wasn't taken.
Moostical comes from my moose making forays, not the real live moose, "only god can make a moose" but the plasticy ones. I have an affinity for the moose. Once, when I did my tarot cards, they said the moose was my animal. Is it? Who knows. I like them though. The cards also said I had a raven on my shoulder. You gotta love that.

A Space of My Own
Hi.
I have been thinking about doing this for so long, and now, almost by accident I have a space to talk about plastic. See, I work with the stuff and have now for over 14 years. That's a large chunk of my life. I make things from a craft material called Friendly Plastic, also known as Fun Plastic in some places, plus I like to use acrylic paint, another plastic of sorts, and I have dabbled in shrink plastic too. I just love the stuff. But it's hard to get others to think of this material as Art. So this year I am going to try to create some kind of Real Art Piece with this low class material and then I am going to try to get some press. There aren't many of us out there doing friendly plastic, especially here in Canada, where as far as I know you haven't been able to get the stuff in a store for years now.
I'm a lonely friendly plastic artist.
